*ABOUT ESTC2010*

The 4th European Semantic Technology Conference - ESTC2010 - will be organized in Vienna, Austria for the fourth time in a row. The aim of the conference is to bring together the world's leading thinkers, innovators, developers, engineers, and senior practitioners responsible for information technology to learn about how to integrate this advanced technology into their current systems.

*PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS*

The first conference day will be all about innovative business ideas, starting with Victor Henning, the CEO of the successful company Mendeley, recounting his experience about how to get started and make a hit with an original business concept. Following the keynote, selected startup companies will present their ideas to a panel of experts and venture capitalists at the aws ESTC Innovation Seed Camp. In the afternoon, an expert panel will discuss the relationship between startups and VCs. The second panel, organized by StartEurope, will talk about the importance of interdisciplinary teams in startup companies. Three workshops will complement the program: the ACTIVE Showcase workshop will present the developed possibilities on increasing organizational productivity, the LOD2 workshop will cover business scenarios with Linked Enterprise Data and the SOA4All workshop will explain the SOA4All technology and highlight its application in the three SOA4All use case industry sectors.

Peter Mika from Yahoo! Research will open the second conference day, focusing his talk on semantic technologies for search and online media. The day will continue with invited talks by representatives from Salzburg Research, Innovatia and FTW. Two expert panels, with representatives from Verizon Communications Incorporation, Ontos AG, Atos Origin and Ontotext, will discuss two increasingly important topics: Future Internet and Linked Open Data. A reception with wine and finger food will conclude this year's ESTC, offering a relaxed closing atmosphere.

*REGISTRATION*

The ESTC2010 is a two day conference. You have the possibility to register for the whole conference or to choose day tickets. The full conference ticket and the day tickets INCLUDE the access to the conference social event, which takes place on the evening of the first day. The fees range from 200 to 380 EUR per person. STI International, AVCO and OCG members, students and startup companies receive a special discount fee.
